DOWNLOADING
-----------------------------------------
Q: Will I have to pay for these screen savers?
A:  Not at all! They are all 100% free and uncrippled! Everything on our site is completely free!

Q: How do I download screen savers?
A: To download a screen saver, go to the main page of Screen-Savers.com. From either the Archive or the Top Downloads click on the screen saver name that you would like to download. This link will send you to that screen saver's download page. Click "Next". A window will pop up asking if you want to "Save" or "Run". (See picture on the left.) If you choose "Save", a window will open asking where you want to save the file. Select the folder that you would like to store the screen saver in. When the download is complete, go to that folder and double-click the .exe file. If you choose "Run", the screen saver will download and install automatically when the download is complete.

Q: Why can't I download a file?
A: There could be many problems preventing you from downloading from our site. For the most part if you refresh the page and click the link again, more than likely it will work. If clicking on it again doesn't work, try coming back the next day or later on. If you continue having problems downloading the file after trying that, contact the webmaster. Here are some further explanations:

"cannot open the file" or "..cannot connect to the server"

This is probably caused by either congestion on the server or the server being down. Try back later, or the next day.

There is no reaction whatsoever when you click on a link:  This is usually caused by a slow connection between you and the server, or it could be from one of the problems above.

A new page opens in the browser saying "404 - error, cannot find page xxx.html" or "The file requested is not available on this server" (or something similar). This simply means that the page cannot be found, which would be the case if the page was moved and the link was not fixed, or the server or connection is down making your computer think that the page is not there.

Q: How can I find downloaded screen savers on my computer?
A: To find a screen saver or other file you lost click on "Start" and go to "Find" and choose "find files or folders...".  In "search for files" or "folders named:" enter the file name you are looking for. If you do not know the full file name, you can use the * symbol, i.e. *.scr would find all .scr files on your computer. Make sure in the "Look in:" box says "Local Disk(C:)".

Q: What can I do if my download is interrupted?
A: Unfortunately the current browsers (Internet Explorer 5 and Netscape 5) do not allow you to resume a download. We recommend getting a download agent, for resuming downloads, such as Getright or Gozilla if you have this problem often.

INSTALLING
-----------------------------------------
Q: How can I install a screen saver?
A: To begin installing the screen saver, double click the .exe file. This will start the WISE installation wizard. Any time during the installation you can click the "Cancel" button and your installation process will end. The first screen that comes up is the Welcome screen. To install, click "Next >". The second screen is the Software License Agreement. Read the agreement and select "Click here if you agree to these terms" and then click "Next >". The third page indicates the directory where the screen saver files will be saved. If you do not wish to install the files into the default directory, click "Browse" and select the directory in which you want to save the files. When you have the correct directory selected, click "Next >". The last screen is a final verification, click "Next >" to continue. The installation will finish and open the display properties window. To run your screen saver select "Preview".

Q: How can I uninstall a screen saver?
A: If the screen saver in question is a Screen-Savers.com screen saver, the best way to uninstall the screen saver is to use the uninstaller included with the program. This is located in the Start Menu. Click on the "Start" button on the bottom left corner of your windows. Scroll up to the "Programs" button then over to the "Screen-Savers.com" folder. Select the screen saver you would like to unistall and click the Uninstall link. The Wise Installation Uninstall window will pop up. Follow the easy directions and the screen saver will be removed from your computer.

Q: Where are .scr files found?
A: All .scr files are found in "C:\Windows" directory.

-----------------------------------------
Q: How can I change the current screen saver on my computer?

Select the screen saver you want from the list and click on "okay" to activate it.
